Reminders: Report cards, winter break, and meal pickup

Reminders: Report cards, winter break, and meal pickup

Greetings families of our Oak View Huskies,

This is Bill Kuendig, proud principal of Oak View Elementary, with some reminders:

  1. Report Card Distribution: Our Trimester 1 report cards will be published to ParentVUE and accessible to families starting around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9. If you do not have access to ParentVUE or would like a paper copy of the report card, please contact Sierra Samari (AESP).
    1. Here is a short letter explaining the report card process this time around. A Spanish language version of this letter will be forthcoming.
    2. Here are the report card descriptor documents in EnglishSpanish, and Hmong.
    3. Here are report card frequently asked questions in EnglishSpanish, and Hmong.
  2. Materials Pickup: There are still a small handful of bins and other student materials left in our front foyer. If you need to access the front foyer to retrieve your child's materials for distance learning, you can do so on Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Friday, Dec. 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  3. Winter Break: Our last day of instruction before winter break is Friday, Dec. 18. Our winter break will be the weeks of Dec. 21 and Dec. 28. We will return to distance learning on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.
  4. Meal Pickup during Winter Break: On Monday, Dec. 21, and Monday, Dec. 28, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., families will be able to receive a box of meals for each week. There are three locations where families will be able to pick up their meal boxes:
    1. Park Center Senior High School (North side of the school near the sports dome, enter through Regent Avenue)
    2. Osseo Middle School (East side of the school by the tennis courts)
    3. Maple Grove Senior High School (North side of the school at the entrance to the sports dome)
  5. Amazon Smile: Did you know that we have raised almost $600 through Amazon Smile for the Oak View PTO? It's an easy way to raise money for our school while doing your wintertime shopping on Amazon. Please check out my video that explains how to use Amazon Smile.
  6. Mr. Kuendig's Info Sharing Session: Please join me this evening (Dec. 9) from 6 to 7 p.m. in Google Meet for an information sharing session. We can address caregiver questions, concerns, and ideas. The meeting information was sent via email earlier today; if you did not receive it, please reach out to the front office.

Wishing you all a wonderful rest of your week. Only 8 more school days until winter break!

Kind Regards,
Principal Kuendig
