In person learning key dates, meal pick up, learning bin drop off, and more

Good Morning Families of our Oak View Huskies,

This is Bill Kuendig, Oak View Elementary principal, with some reminders for families:

OAK Transition to Full In Person Learning - Key Dates:

  • Jan. 13-15: no school for students as we prepare the building for our transition
  • Jan. 18: MLK Jr. Day of Service (no school for students or staff)
  • Jan. 19: first day of in person learning for students in pre-K through second grade (third through fifth grade remain in full distance learning for two more weeks)
  • Feb. 1: first day of in person learning for students in grades three through five

Meal Pick Up: We will continue to host daily meal pickup through this Friday (Jan. 15). Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19, meal pickup for students in grades three through five will take place at any District 279 middle or high school.

Student Learning Bin Drop Off (grades K-2): The student learning bins sent home with students should return to campus in anticipation of the transition to in person learning. We will have a table outside the OAK front door for families to drop those bins off between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. Please make sure your child's bin is clearly labeled with their name and teacher's name.

OAK Winter Conference Dates: Our upcoming winter conferences will take place on Feb. 4, 9, and 11. More details to come.

OAK Family Info Session: I will host my weekly information session on Wednesday, Jan. 13, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. via Google Meet. I sent the code by email on Jan. 12; if you did not receive it, please contact the front office.

Have a great week, Huskies!

Kind Regards,
Bill Kuendig, principal
