Maple Grove Middle, Oak View Elementary career fairs expose students to wide-ranging possibilities
Oak View Elementary School’s media center was a happening place Feb. 5, when the school hosted a career day for fifth grade students that offered young scholars a look into the lives of many different career possibilities.
Students took notes and asked questions as they visited different tables around the media center, each with professionals eager to share about the pathways they took to their career and what a typical workday looks like for them.
Maple Grove Middle School sixth graders had a similar opportunity Feb. 7, when a variety of professionals came to sixth grade classrooms to share about their careers and answer questions.
Some of the professionals in attendance for students to learn from included a restaurant manager, an ecological restoration worker, supply chain and product managers at Target, law enforcement, construction management, college professor, photographer, clinical researcher and a neonatal intensive care nurse, among several others.
